Raspberry cane help.

Hi..
 Planted some canes a couple of months back. Green leaves started to grow and all were looking good. Then the leaves started to curl up, go brittle and go crispy. Are they terminal please?

    Raspberries are thirsty plants ..... have they been having lots and lots of water?

    Yes every 2 days and they are in water retaining compact. I daily stick my fingers in to see if the ground is still damp or not.

    Do you know which variety they are?  Summer or autumn fruiting?
