Gravel in the Cotswolds?

I’m hoping someone can help…

I want to create an area of dry garden, but I’m struggling to locate the right gravel/shingle.

I’d like to use the kind of thing you see a lot on driveways in the Cotswolds (not Cotswold chippings), but I can’t find it. It looks a little like pea gravel, but more whites and greys than browns. I’ve ordered several samples of things that look about right online, but when they arrive they’re not what I was hoping for.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Try Cerney stone.

Thanks, but that’s not quite it. What I have in mind is less monotone.

Ours is whites, greys, browns, and full of fossils - what colours are you after? Could you mix a dark & light?

I’d say a mix like yours. Do you know where you got it?

Regardless of colour [and that depends on local quarries] pea gravel is like a giant litter tray for local cats, so bear that in mind.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Yeah that looks a bit smaller than we have, but most - if not all of the Cotswold stone is Cerney stone. There's loads of places that sell it, so maybe have a look at any Gloucestershire/Worcestershire based company, and they'll have colours and sizes listed, and delivery costs, or if you're far away, they might be able to help with somewhere local to you.

I was going to say that, @Fairygirl! That's not gravel, it's  a cat loo. Every cat in the neighbourhood will head for it!
