    If you use a branded patio cleaner @B3 and follow the instructions you shouldn't be putting your plants at risk!  I use one twice a year on paving, patio and paths next to borders and lawn and have never had a problem with overspill causing damage to plants or grass.  It's best to use a garden sprayer so that you can be precise with application, and apply it on a dry day.
