Which insect is this on my tomato plants?

Hi All,

Came across this insect on my tomato plants. Does someone know what they are?

    I'd say that's a male Blue-tailed Damselfly .... gorgeous things aren't they?  :dizzy:

I think it's Common Blue damselfly male.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

Just to be contrary I don't think it's either of those :)  Hard to tell though sorry. Have a look at the comparison photos on this page and you can work it out based on the pattern of black stripes on the side of the thorax. Too many stripes for the common blue by the looks of it and the tail isn't black enough for the blue-tailed.
