Potatoes

Hi
I'm growing potatoes for the first time, the variety is Swift. Can anyone tell me why the lower leaves are wilting? They did get battered a bit by the strong winds a few days ago but I can see any damage to the stems.  I've staked them now to support.

Potatoes are deep rooted and need a fair amount of water to swell the tubers. The pot that you have them in isn't big enough to support the root system in my opinion.
