    How strange - is that the remains of the flower inside the tomato?

    It does look like it might be. Glad I cut it and didn't just bite into it!

    I think it's just one of those weird things that happens rarely and probably related to environmental conditions.
    I doubt it will ruin your crop. You may find a few others with the same problem that were forming around the same time, but any later fruits should be fine.

    Hello - could be blossom rot?  It's not a problem - just cut that bit out!!  I do it all the time.  Not a lot can be done about it.
