Alternative pond liner?

I'd like to put an additional pond in my garden - a very small one - I have a space about 4' square. As we have some left over polytunnel covering, would it be okay to use that? The pond will not be very deep ... 12 inches roughly. There is currently a paved area there. Perhaps we could use double thickness? Any thoughts welcome. 😊

Should be ok if it’s quite thick. Just a note that 12 inches is really not deep enough ,it will dry out/evaporate in hot weather and freeze almost solid in cold weather. Needs at least some of the pond to be deeper than that imo.

I have a micro pond of about those dimensions - a bird bath, really. In full sun, it does dry during the summer and I have to top it up about once a week. I think that, as long as you are prepared for that, you'll be ok. I would make it deeper if you can as it's less of a PITA.
