Hi,
I’m currently growing a mix of different bedding plants. I’m new to gardening so not too sure of names, but I think this may be a rapeseed? I’ve noticed today there is some grey seeds (?) growing on parts of it. Is this normal or something of concern?

    Oh no, looks like I have some work to do then 😱 I’ve seen online that dish soap and water can help get rid of aphids, so going to try that, is there anything else that would be good to do? Thank you for your help 😊

    A jet of water will do the job - no real need for anything else   :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    those Aphids are food for birds, Ladybirds, Hoverflies and their larvae and many more

    And the flowers on that oilseed rape plant are almost over .., the seeds are setting, the pods will form and ripen and then the pods will open and the seeds will fall  onto the ground … hundreds of them … most will feed wild birds and small mammals over the autumn and winter .., and a few will escape and grow and give you more flowers next May. 😃 

    No need to kill the aphids. Leave them for the ladybirds, lacewings and hoverflies. 

    Did you see the wonderful bit of film about lacewings on Springwatch yesterday? 😊

    That’s so helpful, thank you! I have sprayed it with some water before seeing this post, but I’ll probably just leave it now. I’ve just looked up the clip, an interesting watch 😊
