Help with avocado plant

Hey there 😃 I’ve got a 1 year old avocado plant which I’ve grown from seed. It’s seems to be doing very well, but I’m after some advice on caring for it. It’s currently just under 60cm tall, but has never been pruned. It has probably doubled in size over the last month or so, growing 3 new branches which stretch far out to the side. It looks as though these 3 are going to continue outwards, rather than the main stem growing upwards. Is there anything I can do to make it grow upwards rather than just outwards? Do I need to prune it? Or support it with stick etc? Very new to this so any advice greatly appreciated:) cheers

I know it seems scarily radical, but I'd cut the branches back by a half ... that way they'll  branch out, and may even stimulate growth from lower down.  Otherwise I think that's looking good.
I love to see them grown as a shrubby plant rather than looking like a telegraph pole with a few leaves on top.  :)
