Bee/wasp id

This was in the garden yesterday. Could someone please tell me what it is. I take it, its not something to worry about.

It looks like some kind of ichneumon wasp to me, although I couldn't tell you which species. They parasitise moth larvae. So they're a fascinating part of your garden's ecology.

Maybe Diphyus quadripunctorius. Or maybe his second cousin.

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

    Thank you @WillowBark and @pansyface

Pansyface I think you are right, I just searched it and it does look like it.

I love it when you discover a new visitor to the garden.

    Thank you both.
