So I got the husband to prune the two large cherry branches that seems like they were growing from the grafted root stock. And then it decides to start pouring with rain. Will the tree be ok?

The tree will be fine. Hubby may be an inch or two shorter and a bit wrinkled but he’ll come up lovely in the drier.
Apophthegm - a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

@pansyface
i quickly took the opportunity to get him to saw the branches on one of his rare trips out in the garden.
Will see how the tree fairs because the root stock branches didn’t produce cherries but the main tree has.
