Can anyone identity this insect in my living room. It is about 2cm long with a weird thing on his back.

I think that’s one of the types of Tussock Moth caterpillars.
@wildedges
is good at these.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Looks like a vapourer moth (Rusty Tussock) caterpillar to me, it’s probably looking to pupate, just pop it outside at the bottom of a tree
