What 'shrooms?

A few of these popped up next to the garlic and onions. No, I'm not planning to fry them up, just wondering if anyone might know what they are? Common or garden fungi? Not that you can see it properly cos the bloody picture won't rotate 😒

My mushroom book has dozens of little brown jobs like that. The nearest that I can find is Conocybe ochracea.

Do you live in Essex by any chance?

If it is the mushroom that I think it is, this organisation keeps a record of sightings and Essex seems to be the place where it is commonest.

I thought it might be Common Conecap - Conocybe tenera. https://www.first-nature.com/fungi/conocybe-tenera.php

Could be. Very difficult to tell from one photo. The darker stem made me opt for the other.

We might just have to settle for Conocybe. 🙂

  • Thanks both. Reading your link @steephill I'd go with that. They were very fragile when I picked them out, and looked exactly like the images. Cheers 😊
