Can you tell me what this plant is please?

    It could be a geranium but I can't really tell - can you post a pic of the whole plant, with an open flower and showing the shape of the leaves?

    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Is it a Pasque flower? 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    The flower is very very small so not a pasque

    I don't think it's a geranium. The flowers are tiny and very deep purple.

    I think we need a clearer picture. The flower looks more magenta on my screen.

    It is a Geranium. might be Geranium dissectum

    Yes I think you could call it magenta.
