PSB plant not flowered

Good afternoon all
I have a purple sprouting broccoli plant which has not flowered for some reason. It was healthy all through the winter and continues to look fine. I am wondering if I leave it, will flower later in the year, or even next Spring? Or should I get rid?
All the other psb plants around it were fine and we got plenty of the stuff.
Thanks in advance for any help/ideas

I would leave it and wait … it’ll produce flower shoots at some stage and it might be when there’s nothing else in the veg patch to cook with your roast chicken and potatoes.

Many years we grew PSB and whilst it collapsed all over the place, no flowers, it was just as we came to the 19th month and were getting ready to pull it up....yes it started to flower.
  • Thank you for your replies dovefromabove and Bertrand-Mabel. I will leave it and hopefully it will flower soon.
  • ....and if you get bored waiting you can eat some of the leaves.

  • Sorry to report that it got attacked by pigeons after the netting came apart, so no happy psb ending!
  • Oh what a shame. Better luck next time 🤞

I'm told that, whereas most of the brassica family prefer alkaline soil, those that form florets e.g. Cauliflower and PSB, like a more acidic one.  A good dose of farmyard may be the answer as that tends to be acid.
