Courgettes

I know you can eat the flowers of courgettes, but are the unfertilised female fruit edible too, please? They are probably only 3-4 cms ... but okay to add to a salad ... or would they be bitter?

    They usually go brown on the end and that travels to the middle,  if you don’t think they are getting pollinated you could use a paintbrush, just dabbed between the males and female.

    The problem has been lack of males ... first two opened today. 😀
