Cheery tree damaged leaves

hi, thisis my cherry tree, it was planted last year as a healthy root ball.  However this year it doesn't seem to be doing so well.  The leaves are crincked and withered and some have died, also part of the trunk has become split with bark peeling off.  Anyone know what might be wrong?

  • Also i have a pear tree planted at the same time, and again some of the leaves appear to be blotchy.  Again any ideas?  Thanks

The cherry tree leaves have been sucked by aphids.  I would suggest that the trunk has been used by a local cat as a claw sharpening post. We have both aphids and a cat and lots of fruit trees. They all muddle along together. 🙂

There is a mite that affects pear tree leaves. Again, the tree will grow new ones.
Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
