Any Meconopsis experts

I normally grow M. Lingholm, M. Grandis and M. hensol violet, all kept going by own seeds.
This year I have one which is flowering a month earlier than any of those, and which looks different to me. Any ideas?

It's lovely! I can't grow them here though - too dry. Maybe you could take a trip to Harlow Carr and see if it looks like any of theirs, or send your pics to the RHS and see if they can help. Maybe it's a cross between two of the ones that you normally grow.

Thanks @JennyJ, have sent photos to the RHS and the head gardener at Crathes Castle, who i met recently and who grows lots of Meconopsis. He is going to send me some seeds of M. punicea, which is one I have always struggled to grow.

Envy. We have tried for so many years and never had success.

It took me a number of years to get it consistently right, but now I get flowers every year from a number of different plants and grow new ones from seed.
I am always trying new varieties, this year I am growing M.horridula from seed, which will hopefully flower in 2 or 3years.

For anyone tempted, M.punicea, not easy to grow, and very short lived.
