Nepeta cuttings

Hello,

First post on here so hopefully newbies are welcomed!

Im wondering if I can grow cuttings from my Nepeta grandiflora? If so, please could someone advise this old fool how to do so! I’d love to get my plants spread around our small garden.

cheers.

I’m sure you can take cuttings, (I’ll leave it to someone else with better results from cuttings to explain), but I divide nepeta which is a quick way of getting more bigger plants providing you have a decent sized plant to start. You would knock back the main plant though so maybe a bit late this year depending how far on yours are

Edit: and I forgot to say welcome!
  • Many thanks! My plants are pretty far on, many flower heads on many stems so hopefully cuttings is a viable method.

Harry,  have you considered growing some from seed,  not difficult, you can put them on the kitchen worktop or windowsill if not too sunny.
