What is this please you knowledgeable ppl !!

I think this plug plant was given to me a couple of years ago it comes back every year and although I
believe it was given to me as a flowering plant not sure what or where to plant it out, Please help!

It does look a bit like Lobelia

, but it's got opposite leaves from the look of it. Lobelias are alternate as far as I know.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It's driving me mad because l'm sure l know it. I'm thinking Rudbeckia or Campanula but l don't think that's right.

Phlox, maybe? Bit of a long shot though.
The reddish coloration reminds me of veronicastrum but I'm not sure about the leaf shape.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Just been out to have another look each leaf is about 2 to 3 " long and looks slightly furry with a reddish tinge... appreciate all ur help btw :-)
