Good afternoon everyone. I had a lovely meal at the Italian restaurant, whitebait followed by spicy pork and a coffee Renoir for dessert. The restaurant is set in beautiful countryside - set at the side of the M6. The grounds have been landscaped to a high degree and there is a water rill that runs through the entrance and you walk over a bridge to go in. All in all a very chilled experience. T'Bird, I do not know anything about a book shop in Broughton. We didn't actually go into the village as the restaurant is on the outskirts. I would go there again in a heart beat.
What a beautiful picture of your latest dining room too T'Bird - beautiful wild flower meadow. The next time you go to the Lakes T'Bird, you should go to Cartmel because I know, having visited it, that there is an incredible book shop there. Try to go on a racing day if you can - its phenomenal. Plus you can buy the best sticky toffee pudding ever there!
Ante, I hope you are fully recovered now and ready for working at the cottage tomorrow.
Hazel, I hope that you got sorted with your cement. Things must really be taking shape now.
Busy sounds as though you and your friends had a lovely dinner party with lots of chat.
Biglad, I love the sound of your rainbow meadow and look forward to seeing some pics later on this year.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Lovely pic @Topbird have a lovely evening. @Ladybird4 your day out sounds lovely. Beautiful restaurant and delicious meal. And bonus of no cooking today 🤗 It's absolutely hissing down here, will do the garden good. It can last all evening and over night if it wants to as long as its dry and sunny tomorrow. We watched the new Grace this afternoon, really enjoyed it.Â
Ante I’m sorry to hear your unwell, I do hope you’ll soon feel better, take care of yourself.  Top bird glad you and oh arrived safely despite being tired.  Have a lovely time.  The wildflower meadow looks lovely.  LB a lovely pic to start a new thread. The restaurant sounds absolutely lovely.  I’m glad you’ve had a lovely day and hope it won’t be too long before you re visit.  Hazel well done to you both for completing the arch.  I’m sure up it looks lovely.  Lily I rolled up my old rug as it’s seen better days and have chosen a rug online.  No option to choose a day.  Carpet all vacuumed, although could do with a shampoo.  Chive sunny day today after a cool start.  Visited mum and dad after some early morning pottering.  Baked some bread and time for a cup of tea.  Need to go to post office but that can wait for a while.  I hope you all have a good evening.  Debs the greenhouse is coming together.
Hazel a shame to hear the arch has been such hard work.  I didn’t realise it was so big.  It’s not always easy too size these things at the gc.  Have a rest tonight and have a good sleep.  Goodnight everyone, sleep welll
Hazel - that all sounds like a lot of hard work with a very disappointing end result. Hope you can find something more suitable fairly easily. The Harrod Horticultural garden supports / arches are very good and I can highly recommend them. Quite expensive but excellent quality and built to last. They're based in Lowestoft and used to make gear for the fishing boats. When the fishing industry dwindled away they turned their knowledge and engineering skills to horticulture!
LB - It wasn't Broughton I was thinking of. OH tells me it's Brampton - which looks like a pretty little town / large village to visit. But even there I can't find a book shop so I either dreamt it or am losing my marbles....
Sleep well everyone😴
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
So sorry about the arbor @Songbird-1 after all the hard work and time you and OH spent on it. Hope you sleep well. Hope @Chivetalking you're ok, not seen you today. Night night from me too, sleep well everyone.
Good morning everyone.Hazel sorry to read about the arch problem . We gave up on wooden arches .Our last purchase several years ago is iron ,cost about a hundred pound . It’s still going strong .OH went to the lymphoedema clinic yesterday . The good news is that they think they can get the swelling down .They have ordered some stockings for him that are separately made for each leg . This with a tight liner should help to take the swelling down. I hope everyone slept well . Time for a cuppa .

I've had a quiet day, put away stuff from last night and did something with a hot metal thing in front of the TV.
It has rained but not nearly enough, hardly shows in the water butt.
