Good morning SGL, Debs and everybody. Rain, rain and more rain! It woke me up very early this morning. Anyway - not going to whinge (too much) as my garden needs it.
Good idea Ruby to replace the wooden hand rail. I do like having something to steady me as I go down the step outside the back door. Might have to consider a hand rail myself.
Yes, SGL, I did Google your plant. I had a suspicion it was an Androsace but wasn't sure which one it was until I researched. One thing though, I expect you have read about it now, but it isn't a long lived perennial but will seed itself around. I think its a little beauty!
Debs, you will love having your greenhouse completely finished - patience now, you are nearly there.

Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
My sister and I are going out for lunch today - Italian. She is picking me up at about 11:15 and we will travel up to Broughton. I haven't been here before so am looking forward to it.
p.s. hope T'Bird and her OH had a smooth crossing and that Busy's sumptuous meal with her friends was a success.

A bleary-eyed morning all. Not the best night’s sleep but we’ve arrived safely which is the main thing. Waiting to disembark & first stop is SM for milk & a few other essentials. Then we’ll head for a spot overlooking the sea for tea & breakfast. Looks like it will be a nice day for driving to Munster via some lakes for a lunchstop.
Ante - hope you feel better today

@Ladybird4 yes I did read that, hoping I will get lots of seedlings. Might try and keep it by putting in a smaller pot over winter and putting it in conservatory. But if that fails, I know the name and could get another next year. Have a lovely time with sister. Glad you've arrived safely @Topbird enjoy your breakfast. @debs64 hope all goes well at work. Good that your greenhouse is almost finished 🪴🪴 @Rubee will take it easy, will try not to doze off too long 😉 Sorry you have rain LB and Debs. I watered the garden yesterday so it's bound to rain today 😂 although the garden needs it. Have a lovely day everyone.
LB, sorry to hear that you again have rain. Lunch with sister will be very pleasant for sure. Have a nice time.
T'Bird, I'm glad that you had a safe journey. Have a nice time today.
Sunny and very warm morning. It seems that summer is near. I'm better today and cup of tea and sun will improve my mood. I'll take rest after school, and tomorrow is again work on the land.Â
I'm glad you've arrived @Topbird, have a good time.
Our dinner party last night went very well. The other 2 couples know each other and get on well but hadn't seen each other for a while, so lots of chat. Food went down well. The Mary Berry dessert, which looked so pretty in her book, was rather messy looking but tasted good.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Marti has been overnight and sorted out the watering for me. I did a quick lap earlier with no nasty surprises. There are signs of life in the two areas I sowed seeds in a couple of weeks ago. Wildflower mix at the side of the house and a combination of zinnia, cosmos, cornflower, nigella and gypsophelia in the front garden. I'll be interested to see how that develops - it looked great in my head Â
Seedlings in the back porch are getting to the point where they need to move on but I don't have time until the weekend.
I've just got the energy bill/statement for April. Charged £73, direct debit £154. We're now £300+ in credit. They've owed me money for years. Can't imagine that usage will be much different for the next 5-6 months . Let's see if they can get it to a grand in credit by next winter!!! Bank of Biglad might start charging BigInterest Â
Breakfast overlooking the sea was good and we’ve just left a lovely little lunch stop. Large lake to one side and pretty wildflower meadows to the other. Very warm in a sheltered spot in the sun but the NE wind has a very keen edge to it.
Lunch stop
Glad you're feeling better Ante.
Hope you've enjoyed Broughton LB. Am I correct in thinking there's a good book shop there?
