Insect ID please

Anyone know what this is? Some kind of fly, obvs, but not one I've ever seen before. Sorry pics aren't great.

Is that it on the edge of the pot?

Is second pic the same insect? Looks like might be a bee fly if not?

Thanks @Jellyfire. Looks like it was the first one. Quite fat round the abdomen. It was the same in both pics, I'm just not good with a camera 😊
