Montana clematis

I have a Montana clematis I would like to plant on my loral bush Arch but not sure if they would co-habit well together.  I’ve seen Montana climbing trees etc so can anyone advise if this could be possible. Please see pictures attached

Certainly possible. 
The drawback is- when you need to trim the laurel, it'll be hard not to cut off the montana stems too.

If you do decide to do it, make sure you plant it well enough away so that it can establish.
