Bosch advanced rotak height stuck

Hello 
I just bought A 36-850 cordless mower 2nd hand but I can’t get the height above 4. It’s like it doesn’t bounce up any higher.
Any suggestions how to fix this?

    With my Bosch I find it very difficult to change the height settings. Have had it on 8 for the first cut and have reduced to 7 now. I think it takes a lot of strength and patience and if it's cordless maybe you could put some soapy water on it to see if that helps. 
    I take it your settings are set with a plastic type lever which should slip into the different notches. This may not be of any help whatsoever but someone else may be able to help. Are you able to contact the previous owner and ask their advice?
