Incorrect name of plant?

Via online chat I was given the name of a yellow flowering plant (typed up so I have not misheard), but on searching online the second part of the name  did not come up. The name given initially was Helicanthus goutax. I went back to the person and they gave me Helianthus  ...........but   no second part of the name this time!. Got to the pulling teeth stage now.  I will assume it is a type of Helianthus but what could the second name be, -something sounding like Goutax 
Apparently it is a perennial.

Thanks for the efforts regardless. I've clearly been given incorrect information because I would have got the answer on here.
