Alchemilla mollis

Afternoon,

I had an Alchemilla mollis in a pot that had become pot-bound and kept wilting in the sun recently.  I managed to get it out of the pot but some of the roots, just at the bottom, were broken off during the move as it was larger than I imagined.

Its now in the ground and had a good drink but is looking very sorry for itself.

Should it pick up in time or should I have done this earlier in the season?

 Thanks.

    It'll be fine. They're fairly indestructible.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Phew, thanks! It was bone dry when I got it out, even though I water it once a week. Hopefully it’ll be happier now in the ground.

I'm sure it will, just keep it moist until it looks happy.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Once a week for any potted plant would never be enough in dry weather, unless it was a succulent or some alpines, although even those need water in pots.
Make sure it's getting plenty, for a good while until it's growing well itself.  :)
