This is a most peculiar fungi growing on a dead branch of a very old horse chestnut tree which I haven't been able to identify on a quick online trawl. Anybody have ideas?
Unusual, Dryads Saddle can occasionally grow a bit like that rather than its usual flat ledges
Thanks for that link
, very interesting. I hope the stink when it rots doesn't waft over the bridge! I was amazed about just how quickly it is growing, the size of a rubber glove last Tuesday but much larger today.
