hi, I saw this tree at Harlow Carr at the weekend and was very taken with it. Anyone have any idea of what it is? Many thanks

    Metasequoia glyptostroboides,...maybe the golden one.
Metasequoia glyptostroboides Gold Rush...common name Dawn redwood.
    Fab tree.
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .

Here's the trunk of my dawn redwood, planted in 1996, and not as 'clean' as in @Silver surfer's photo, but so full of character, ( and moss....)
I love the autumn colour, here it turns a cinnamon shade before dropping the needles.
A favourite, for sentimental reasons, but also for its shape, colour and the fascinating story of its 'discovery' in China.

wow thank you @silversurfer and @Woodgreen that is the tree. I was sort of thinking I would try and get a small one and keep it in a big pot.. didn’t realise it was such a big tree! Not very practical for a 30’ x 40” garden! Love yours
