Have you noticed how when you give something the evil eye and plot when and how to get rid of it, it suddenly flowers, buds or shoots?

🤣 I once planted a salvia, after 2 years of it growing but not flowering I dug it up and put it in the brown bin. A week later when  I went to put more in the bin the bas***d thing was flowering, in the bin! Grrr

@B3 yes I did. And I chopped the flowers off in fit of rage. That taught it a lesson! It's probably flowering now in a council tip.🤬🤣

Funny you should start this thread B3. Four years ago I bought myself and a friend a cotinus. My friends one is a thing of beauty and a joy to behold, mine is s*****g pathetic and a disgrace to the gardening world. 
I'm going outside this very minute and giving it a piece of my mind, telling it to get a grip or it's getting lopped and binned. I might even swear at it.

See what I mean? The twiggy thing in front of the Solomans Seal. Anyway, it's just had a rousting so I'll see what happens when it comes into leaf this year.

An interesting experiment @Uff. What do they come from? Might you need to learn some foreign expletives.

I have 2 climbing hydrangea that my neighbour tells me have beautiful flowers. In the  2 years we have been here, we have seen not a single flower. So I gave them a stern talking to last Autumn and warned them I am planning to replace them with something more beautiful. Low and behold, both are about to flower

No, funnily enough this is the first year I have actually had time to prune them since we moved in. I was going for kill or cure
