Different type of grass invading lawn

I have a rogue different type of grass appearing in my front lawn in tufts (see picture). These grow much faster than the other grass.
They seemed to appear late last summer after I'd put top dressing on the lawns (Tommy topsoil). My (uneducated) guess is that there were some rogue grass seeds in that dressing.
So, how do I get rid of these tufts? Thanks

I think the only way is to dig them out. I use a mixture of a long weeding knife and one of those hook-shaped ones, the hooky one loosens them a bit, and then the long one to get underneath. At this time of year the good grass should spread to fill the gaps quite quickly.
