Unknown plant???

Hi everyone 👋
Would someone kindly let me know what plant this is please??
It’s putting on a wonderful display in our front garden at the moment, but I’m getting loads of friends asking me what it is, so I need your help! Thank you 😊
I’d also like to know when’s the best time to prune it too please

Some sort of Broom by the look of it

A very impressive plant!  I think it's a Coronilla, probably glauca. Lots of info here:  Coronilla - Growing Guide - Burncoose Nurseries
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.
  • Thanks everyone! I now have something to go on 👍😉

It's not Coronilla. Agree it's some type of Broom, possibly Genista 'Porlock'.
  • Hey Borderline, that looks more like it actually 👍
Yep, I think I agree that that’s it, although I can see the resemblance to Coronilla which Plantminded thought it was. Thanks again, and also to everyone who offered their suggestion 👍
    Have a good evening 😊
  • I saw a genista at the gc today and it looks exactly the same.
  • Thank you thevictorian - that’s definitely what we have! It’s looking fantastic at the moment; full of bees too 🐝 yay! 🥳

They have lovely arching growth - it would be a pity to spoil that by pruning so go easy.  Also, pruning hard may well kill it.  You can give it a light trim, not into the old wood, when it's finished flowering if it's getting too big.   :)

  • Thank you Liriodendron, I’ll keep that in mind 👍
