Seed or weed??

Am I nurturing a weed or is this perhaps a seed I scattered last year making an apparence? It doesn’t look like other weeds I have! Thank you in advance!

    I scattered some poppy seeds - i wondered if it might be that?

    Doesn't look like any of the poppies I know.  My first thought was Creeping buttercup too.

    Ah I see guess it is a weed after all! I’ve got no end of dandelions, daisies and catmint but not seen any other buttercups! I let my lawn get pretty wild so must just be a rogue buttercup! Shame it isn’t one of the 1000s of poppy seeds - I find them impossible to grow, have tried in paper tubers and everything, obviously not meant to be!
