    I tried zooming and I'd guess it's an azalea, but can't be sure

    It does look like an azalea.

    Yes, one of the azaleas - they need acid conditions to grow well, so if your tap water isn't soft, try and use rainwater which is best.
    Use ericaceous compost when you repot it.
    Also feed with an azalea feed. I use Miracle Grow for azaleas  - I don't have any but it's good for my blueberries :)
