Hi There

My uncle has these two plants growing in his new garden in San Francisco and wonders what they are. Is the white flowered one an Australian bottlebrush plant ?

Thanks for your help.

The first one looks like spiderwort ‘Sweet Kate’

The second one might be a fothergilla

1st one looks like Tradescantia virginiana.

I can confirm the first as Tradescantia 'Sweet Kate' ... I have it growing in my garden.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

I agree it's a tradescanthia but don't know which one.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
