Geranium orion

I’m looking at getting geranium Orion as the rhs website says it grows to 1m tall. However,  Hardys says only 45cm.

Does anyone have experience of this variety?

 Thanks.

Mine definitely grew 1m tall. I had to dig it out and put it in a pot as it was growing next to a rose and swamping it. I have no idea where to plant it now. Wonderful plant with a very long flowering season, but it does grow quite big.
  • Ok, thanks. What kind of spread does it have?

At least 1m, but probably more. It’s happy to scramble, if the nearby plants don’t mind it. This is in July last year, 2nd year plant.

The bit next to the phlox is part of the same plant.
  • To be fair, that’s the kind of plant I’m after! Is it easy to care for? Any tips would be much appreciated!

Great news, then. Very easy, just remove the dead stems in late autumn or winter. I didn’t feed mine or give it a trim after flowering (mostly because it didn’t stop flowering until late autumn). Full sun if possible and water it until established.
  • Grand, thanks!
