Asteraceae. Huge. Flowers not open
Seen at St Andrews Botanical garden in July 2015.
Please can someone help me with a name?

I'm sorry I don't know the answer Silver surfer but if you get really stuck then Cambo might know the answer as they had some of St Andrews plants.

Definitely not Podophyllum peltatum..which I know well and used to grow.

Mystery plant had to be about 2 m tall at least...in the daisy family.

This is Ligularia palmatiloba, grows to about 2m., certainly looks similar
