Please can someone ID this plant?

Hello. Please can someone ID this reddish plant? A friend has moved in to a house with a lovely established garden, so we are pretty sure it’s not a weed!

It's a version of ajuga reptans, lovely little plant. Likes dryish patches and gently spreads (not in a scary way, you can rip it up easily if it goes somewhere you don't want it) - bees like the flowers.

@Sazz101 The flowers are blue and very pretty.

It can be quite a thug, but its easy to pull out. It'll grow anywhere- sun, shade, wet, dry.

I love them, and the bees love the flowers ... there are other versions with different coloured leaves.

Agree Ajuga reptans Black Scallop is a good contender.
