What to plant there (gap between garages)

Hi, we have this gap between ours and next doors garage that we have just cleared. We get quite a few hedgehogs in the garden, and thought about planting some low maintenance grasses. 
Any thoughts or ideas.

Also thinking of installing a slim water bund in the space.

I'd put down some slabs or gravel and a  container at one or both ends.I
If you managed to get anything to grow, you would have to trample on your plants to get at the inevitable weeds.

Good place for overwintering plants that dislike winter wet. And storage. Nothing will usefully grow in there except perhaps ivy.
