Here are some pots at the front of my house (north-facing and in shade) - newly potted up, so fingers crossed. Hosta Francee, and Heucheras Marmalade and Timeless Night:
@Fire mine is Scabiosa columaria and I reckon it would be pretty happy in a 30cm pot. It gets to maybe 30cm in height and flowered nonstop last year right into November (and I'm in Scotland!). Not sure if there are pink or white versions but I can definitely recommend it as a compact scabious.
New summer pot with plants grown from seed or propagated by cuttings. The plants don’t look too good right now, but they’ll soon start to grow. I’ve used:
3 catananche caerulea (grown from seed last year)
chocolate cosmos (from saved tuber)
pennisetum rubrum (overwintered and recently cut back)
burgundy pelargonium from cutting.
I thought it would be interesting to track its progress.
