Why would a squirrel take plastic bulbs from my string of lights?

I’ve just watched him take 5 this morning. One by one. I’m sure is family of squirrels exist to torment me. Already had most of my tulip bulbs!

Probably thought they were nuts of some kind.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Or birds eggs? They eat eggs and chicks if they find them.

Good shout
@Balgay.Hill
. At least they'll find out how wrong they were when they start eating them

@Sazz101
you've just solved a mystery for me; we've got some of those cheap pretend light bulb led lights that you just clip to stuff, which I found deconstructed recently. I couldn't work out how they'd come unscrewed!

Oh dear
@mikeymustard
!
Yes, likely.
Was quite surprised to see two bulbs bravely shining on last night.
This morning I saw them continuing to ‘harvest’ them, and then one squirrel trying to eat the solid plastic balls as if it were a nut
I’ve removed remaining lights put some cooked rice out.
