Recycled water tank for a pond

Hi, I need some advice / suggestions as to how to bung the holes in a recycled black plastic water tank please. I’m thinking cork or rubber will eventually deteriorate. Is there perhaps a screw thread item that will seal both sides. I have 4 holes to seal.

I highly recommend Sugru - moldable silicone rubber putty. It's fully waterproof and will last well over the years. You can also buy an outside silicone sealant, but you have to buy a big tube. Sugru comes in small packets and you can sand it, paint it, etc if you want. Fine at -40 to +40oC. Available from Ebay etc.

You'll need to use a proper sealant with those as well. Water will find it's way out of the tiniest spaces. 

When you put water in, don't fill it. Just put enough in to cover all the holes, then wait to see if it stays there
