Should I mow the lawn now?

Hi guys,

I had a lawn laid last year. Now the sun has come out and its feeling warmer should I give it its first mow of the year?
Thanks

It should be fine as long as it's not waterlogged underneath. Set the blades high for the first few cuts so that you're just trimming off the tops, and make sure they're sharp. You can lower the cut height gradually over several mowings if you like, but not so short that you scalp it.

Mine's an old patch of grass that I'm not to bothered about and when I mowed it , it got pretty chewed up. Make sure that you wait until the ground is dry enough before you think of mowing.

If it's long enough to need it - yes. Just don't take too much off as already said, and make sure the site is ok.
I did mine yesterday. I've never cut grass this early before.
The last few days has seen a little spurt in the growth. No winter, so it's not been as dormant as usual either.

Cut mine for the third time yesterday.  Mower is still 3 setting from the lowest one!
