Pruning an acer in March

Should I do this?
a few branches are coming toward a window and I’d definitely rather they didn’t! If I can’t do a full prune but need to snip some back, what’s the best way to do this at this time of year?

    I wouldn't. You risk problems, especially if there's already growth there. 
    Autumn/winter is the time to do it when they're dormant. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
