Morning, has anyone cut their grass yet ?
It has been dry for a few days now in South Yorkshire, I have a hover mower and a smallish patch of grass and thinking of doing it today..

  • We're in South Staffs. Weather has been dry for a few days, so did it yesterday. Like you, small lawn and hover mower. 😊

Yes, we have cut some of ours, down here in the south. It's growing quite vigorously now.

If it's dry, and it's long enough to require mowing, there's no reason why you can't do it.
We sometimes have no choice here but cutting when grass is wet, especially when growth gets underway properly, despite all info saying you shouldn't.
A hover mower especially, will be easier.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I'm also in South Yourkshire. I did mine the weekend before last, just a trim on the highest setting, and it'll be getting another trim this weekend if the weather plays nicely.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • Will be doing this at the weekend weather permitting..

Front cut as it was dry enough. Back too wet.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
