Do I need top soil for planting tree in a new build?

Hello! I have a cheals weeping arriving soon 🥳 and I wondered whether I would be okay to plant directly into our new build front garden or whether I should add more top soil beyond the petty amount builders give it.
Currently there is happy grass growing, I’ve done a test dig and the soil is nice and dark, not a huge amount of clumps and barely any rocks or debris. I dug about 30-50cm deep before I got caught in a storm so can’t be 100% about the soil quality.
What depth would my cherry tree need to be happy? Can it cope in probably crap soil?

thank you!

Cherry trees aren't deep-rooted, so I'd say it will be fine there. :)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

It sounds good. Sounds like your topsoil is deeper than a foot which is plenty.
