Compost bin suggestions

Have never had one but moving to Aberdeenshire is forcing my hand as the council doesn't collect garden waste here at all, the gits.

Given this will have to cover all my garden waste and not only what I choose to put in, is a hot composter like the Green Johanna the best way to go to allow for a quicker turnover?

Can't afford to be stuck with a full bin that takes a ridiculous time to break down.

Any advice/product suggestions welcome.

I don't think there are any domestic compost bins that will take ALL garden waste. In my area you can pay for single or regular pick-ups of such material but we bag it up and take it to the dump where there is no charge. We sometimes take a sack or two for neighbours who do not drive.
If you find yourself able to embrace the idea, making compost is fascinating as well as environmentally friendly, you only need a small space contained on three sides. Hot composters are eye-wateringly expensive but I don't know how much they take or how fast they work. I imagine you need a full load to make it worthwhile and that would be a problem for me, I add to my heap almost every day.

I moved to a council area that charges for green waste collection and is also not allowing new people to sign up at the moment, I went for this

and was really happy with it, I'm going to buy another to go with it soon.

What's eye wateringly expensive in context?

This isn't cheap but it's not outrageous money- https://www.greatgreensystems.com/shop/green-johanna-330-litre-hot-composter

My previous council charged for garden waste collection but at least there was an optional subscription.

Well, that's a lot of money to me! I make a lot of compost so my OH made some for me for a fraction of that price but he also knocked one up from some old pallets that has lasted for years and cost nothing. I'm not so keen on bins that are difficult to access, though. Have a think about how easy it will be to get stuff in and out.
