New Podcast

Hi

my wife and I have started a new podcast called “ The Gooden Life”. It’s just us, in the garden and on the allotment doing our best. I’d love your views and any suggestions for content. The first episode of 2022 should be available on Spotify and Apple podcasts today. Just 15 minutes or so of your time and no commercial messages.

I'm not sure if podcasts count as advertising on this site, so it would be a good idea to check with the terms and conditions below, just to make sure.
You could also contact Daniel Haynes about it [he's in charge] to check, or you may find yourself getting flagged as spam   :)

You can do that by private message, by going into your settings  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thanks for your advice. I’ve checked. There’s nothing commercial here. Apart from a mention of a seed supplier. But only from my position as a customer who paid in full for seeds. Just enthusiasts. Take a listen!

Excuse me if I sound rude. If I do, please it down to my old age and my dissociation from the ways of modern life and mores.

Here on the forum, you could liken us to a bunch of amateur bakers, some very skilled and proficient while others are just beginning to work out how you plug in the food mixer. We natter on about our various triumphs and puzzles and disasters. We offer information and we listen to others.

But your podcast seems to be more along the lines of someone who has produced a tv show like Great British Bakeoff and wants to tell the world about it.

As I say, I am probably out of touch with modern life. I come from a generation where blowing one’s own trumpet was not encouraged.

I wish you well with your productions but I don’t feel that this forum has quite the right ambience for it.

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
  • Thanks. Btw. What generation are you referring to? I’m 63….

I’m a good bit older than that. 😊

  • It’s good that you listen to podcasts. Many old people don’t. Sorry it’s not to your taste. But, you don’t have to listen…..

    I don’t listen to podcasts. (I don’t think.🤔) Not knowingly, anyway.

I was just trying to say that your contribution to the forum (podcast as opposed to conversation) seems a bit (to use a modern terms) in yer face.

Maybe if you’d started out as a “normal” forum member and gone on to mention your work in podcasts it might have been a bit kinder on the ear.
