I think what impressed me about the first one is the handle where it's joined to the blade. Instead of the join being flat to both it's end on making it stronger. In theory anyway.
Ah that's interesting - I don't think they had a serrated edge one when I got mine. However, I'm hoping that the Japeto is as good as everyone says, as it's only £17.95 at the moment - quite a bit less than that Niwaki!
