Have I mice or rats

Good morning.. 
Found this dead animal in my water bucket.. Do I have mice or rats.. Thanks for any help

    Mouse by the look of it, but difficult when there's no sense of scale.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Maybe a field mouse.

    It must have got stuck and unable to jump out.

    I keep all my buckets and watering cans either fully topped up or tipped over if I leave them in the garden in order to avoid that sort of accident.

    Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.

    Yes - that's always the problem for the wee souls @pansyface. 'Mine' can always use the pond or the shallow tray in the front garden if they want a drink.
    They're usually too busy climbing up into the bird feeders and stuffing their faces though.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Field mouse, judging by big ears and kangaroo type back legs. Poor mite, I also have to leave the watering cans either full, or on their sides, to avoid finding the occasional body and feeling guilty.
